Yesterday, the 19th of December, 2017 was the press conference for the Ember Month Road Safety Campaign partnership between Cars45 and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The theme of the campaign was Road Signs and Safety Driving Tips for Nigerians. it was geared towards sensitizing the average Nigerian road user on road signs and safety driving tips.
Cars45 collaborated with the FRSC on this campaign as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project.
The conference began with the recitation of the second stanza of the national anthem.
The members of the high table were introduced by Miss Mala who served as the compere for the event. The members of the high table include: the FRSC Lagos Sector Commander; Corps Commander Hyginus U. Omeje, CEO of Cars45; Etop Ikpe, the FRSC Public Education Sector Officer; Mr. Tunji Oguntoye, Cars45 VP Trading; Mr. Mohammed Iyamu and Cars45 Head of Operations; Mr. Chinedu Okwuosa.
Next up, Corps Commander Hyginus U. Omeje gave the welcome address and Mr. Etop Ikpe gave a profound speech on the importance of the campaign especially in this ‘ember period.
Afterwards, the campaign materials, namely; fliers and boards creating awareness about road signs, signals and markings as well as safety driving tips, were unveiled by Mr Etop Ikpe and Corps Commander Hyginus U. Omeje.
Then the closing remarks and vote of thanks was given by the FRSC Public Education Sector Officer, Mr. Tunji Oguntoye.
Thereafter, group photographs were taken with Cars45 staff and FRSC officials.
The event ended with the distribution of the campaign fliers and free inspection vouchers to car owners on the nearby roads.
The event was a successful one and the beginning of the Ember Month Campaign, which we hope will effect an actual change in the response of Nigerians to road safety.
