The Lagos State Government has decided to lighten the burden on the neck of its inhabitants, the mega city dream is finally coming to pass.
The sum of 18. Billion Naira has been allocated for the construction and rehabilitation of Lagos roads, this was made known to all by the State’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure; Engr. Ade Akinsanya, he affirmed that an upfront payment of 5.563 billion Naira (30%) had been released to flag off the construction of 181 roads spread across the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the State.
“The construction of the 181 council roads is in fulfillment of the promise made by our Governor to open up more inner roads across the State following the successful delivery of the 114 roads in September 2016”
Akinsanya also stated that the roads will be constructed in phases, asserting that each phase will see the construction of one road each in the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs. And to that effect, contractors have been mobilised to move to site immediately.
“Governor Ambode is totally committed to ensuring that Lagosians continue to enjoy good governance. There are many projects going on simultaneously across the State and the roads to be constructed will further open up the LGs and LCDAs for economic prosperity” Akinsanya said.
This project is a clarion call to Lagosians to pay their taxes promptly to enable the Government meet up with its target and complete all ongoing projects in the State this year.
