Local Car Gist #Update
Barely a week after we had been rejoicing that Lagos roads were free, we woke up to a traffic ridden Lagos road this week. Holiday is truly over #sadface
Everyone is back to work, kids are back to school and we are back to the dilemma of sitting through irritating traffic that seems unending on the ever busy road of Mobolaji Bank Anthony, Apongbon axis, Allen Roundabout road, Ikorodu road, Ojuelegba linking bridge, Ajose Adeogun road amongst others.
Fender to bumper movement, the heat of angered arguments between drivers, passengers and road transport workers have once again resumed.
Not forgetting the recently inspired traffic by the Agege gridlock, lamentations couldn’t cease as motorists kept complaining of the hiccups that the government failed to notice while planning the Agege flyover project:
“We complained of the hardship experienced before Christmas due to the fuel scarcity, but this present one is unthinkable. Already, bus fare from Iyana Ipaja to Oshodi has gone up from the normal N100 or N200 during fuel scarcity to N500. And to think we will endure this for the next six months is killing. They said this is partial closure, what would then happen when the entire stretch is fully blocked,”
Lagos as we know it is back. Did anyone miss it? Not me.
