PAY LOADER TRUCK FALLS OFF BERGER BRIDGE, LANDS ON TWO CARS

A Pay Loader truck yesterday fell off the Berger Bridge in Lagos and landed on two cars. The incident, which happened at 9.am on Wednesday morning was as a result of a brake failure.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority Response Unit (LRU) were at the scene to help control traffic and manage casualties but luckily, no life was lost at the scene.

A  LASTMA official who kept an anonymous identity said he heard of the incident on Traffic Radio around 9.am and immediately alerted the officers around the area of the scene.

“The information we have been able to gather so far, regarding the accident is that the Pay Loader truck attempted a drive through the bridge and fell as a result of its weight. When the LASEMA Rescue Unit (LRU) truck arrived the scene to help lift the truck, it could not because the truck was heavy. The accident did not cause traffic and luckily, nobody died.”
