THE BEST TECH CARS YOU DESERVE THIS 2018

#Cars45TechTuesday

Today’s cars are loaded with high-tech features that make them safer, more connected, and more capable than ever. While some of the latest automotive technology is reserved for high-end luxury models, buyers can find a wealth of high-tech features on more affordable models.

With outstanding features such as automatic emergency braking, automatic climate control, and internet connectivity, that were costly options just a few years ago can now be found as standard equipment on a growing number of models. Smartphone connections, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow apps and navigation information to stay up to date, now there’s a lot more fun than just hitting down the throttle.

In this post, we will be highlighting a number of cars that we have found to be sophisticated enough in terms of Tech upgrade. If you love cars, then this post is for you.

Let’s get started.

2018 HYUNDAI IONIQ

All three versions of the 2018 Hyundai Ioniq come loaded with high-tech standard features, including a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system, a proximity key entry system, push-button start and automatic cabin temperature control. The compact hatchback also supports satellite radio, HD radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

The Ioniq comes in three models: a gas-electric hybrid, a plug-in hybrid, and a pure electric. If you are eligible for the federal tax incentives available on the plug-in and electric models, their prices become competitive with the hybrid version.

2018 RAM 1500

Not only does the 2018 Ram 1500 have the lowest base price in the full-size pickup segment, it also has some of the best available technology in the class. A USB port comes standard in every Ram 1500, as does a six-speaker audio system.

In addition to its available UConnect infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Ram features an optional air suspension for a smoother ride than its rivals. Multiple ride heights can be selected for varying road conditions.

In our ranking of full-size trucks, the Ram holds a spot as the second best, tailing the class-leading 2018 Ford F-150.

2018 FORD EXPEDITION

The 2018 Ford Expedition is completely redesigned for 2018. Ford gave their largest SUV a slew of new infotainment, connectivity, and advanced safety technologies. The Expedition holds the top spot in our ranking of large SUVs and is the winner of our 2018 Best Large SUV for Families award.

Standard features include a nine-speaker audio system, four USB ports, and a basic SYNC infotainment system with a 4.2-inch screen. Move up in the trim levels, though, and you’ll get Ford’s excellent SYNC 3 infotainment system, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, plus support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For the first time, the new Expedition is available with Automatic Emergency braking, Adaptive cruise control, Active park assist, a 360-degree camera system and Lane keeping assist. Ford’s nifty trailer backup assist makes it easy to look like a pro when you’re backing a trailer into a tight spot.
